SNAKE RIVER FEST 2023: FILM AND THOUGHT
Snake River Fest 2023 kicks off with a night dedicated to river related film, speakers, and thought provoking content. This year, we’ll be partnering with the Greater Yellowstone Coalition to present the Patagonia and Teton Gravity Research film “Tribal Waters.” Join us at the Center for the Arts May 31st to join the discussion and learn about watershed science, management, access, and representation. SNAKE RIVER FEST 2023: FREESTYLE COMPETITION
Kayakers and surfers are encouraged to compete in this one of a kind jam session! Kayakers will be judged in a familiar rodeo format, surfers will be judged as people’s choice. All are welcome to watch and cheer! Location of event will be determined by river flows.
SNAKE RIVER FEST 2023: WYOMING WHITEWATER CHAMPIONSHIP RACES
Everyone is invited to compete in our annual Hoback downriver race at the Gilcrease Property! Navigate beautiful class II rapids that will challenge even the tightest of paddlers to stay high and dry. Tandem kayaks, longboats, inflatable kayaks, SUPs, and rafters are all welcome! Registration fees, skill requirements, and prizes vary by competition class. If cost is prohibitive, please reach out.
This year, we are pleased to offer two nights of camping at the Gilcrease Cabin Site. Camp along the Wild and Scenic Hoback River after the race and/or after our Festival Village event, which is just a few miles downstream. While porta-potties will be available on site, campers should come prepared with their own water and camp comforts. A shuttle will be available to transport campers to and from the Festival Village.

Paddle head to head against the region’s best paddlers on the area’s fiercest rapid, Snaggletooth. This competition is for expert kayakers only. Last year, this growing event opened registration for the region’s most talented youth ‘yakers. This year, keep your eyes peeled for inflatables!
SNAKE RIVER FEST 2023: FESTIVAL VILLAGE
The grand finale! This afternoon is all about coming together as a community to celebrate our partners, supporters, and of course, the resource itself. Shop from a variety of river-related vendors or learn about conservation efforts from local non-profit partners. Enjoy food trucks, lawn games, cold beer, live music, and more! Stay tuned for Festival Village offerings, music line-up, and shuttle info.
