Golf
Courses and views on par with the world's best.
We’re not sure if you’ll enjoy the sport or the views more on Jackson Hole’s scenic and expertly designed golf courses.
Jackson Hole’s first golf course opened before Jackson Hole Mountain Resort did. Golfers here have been teeing up since 1963, and today there are five semi- and fully private courses that are among the most highly rated in the northern Rockies. Hazards on these courses go beyond the water and bunkers you’re used to — think marmots sunbathing on fairways and moose foraging near water features. And the views, whether of the Tetons or the Snake River, can be hazardously distracting. Jackson Hole’s courses have been designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. (Jackson Hole Golf & Tennis Club), Tom Fazio (Shooting Star), Arnold Palmer (Teton Pines), Rees Jones (3 Creek Ranch), and Tom Weiskopf (Snake River Sporting Club).
Local Tip
Because of Jackson Hole’s high elevation, shots with all clubs go about 10% further than they do at sea level. Get an idea of your adjusted numbers by hitting at the range before your round.
