Your guide to Teton Valley: Victor and Driggs

    By Visit Jackson Hole

Teton Valley, Idaho, is Jackson Hole’s sister community, located just a scenic drive over Teton Pass in the eastern part of Idaho.

It’s home to stunning natural beauty, world-class outdoor recreation, and a vibrant local community. Teton Valley is the perfect day trip for those looking to dip their toes into Idaho and experience the west side of the Tetons.

    Outdoor recreation

Victor and Driggs are renowned for their outdoor access, including hiking, mountain biking, skiing, snowboarding, and fishing. The Teton Range provides breathtaking scenery for hiking and mountain biking, with trails ranging from beginner to advanced stemming out of Darby Canyon and Teton Canyon.

Grand Targhee Resort is the area’s premier ski and snowboarding destination, with over 2,500 acres of skiable terrain and endless mountain biking options, from grueling uphill climbs to flowy lift-access downhill to flat introductory trails.

A paved bike path connecting the towns of Victor and Driggs provides a leisurely road bike ride; just rent a bike from Fitzgerald’s Bicycles and immediately pop onto the path for a car-free cruise.

The Teton River is an excellent spot for fly fishing, with rainbow, brown, and cutthroat trout being the most commonly caught species, and a popular spot to cool off on a hot day with a scenic float.

    Local attractions

Experience the charm of Teton Valley’s farming community through the Teton Valley Museum, theTeton Valley Farmers Market (every summer Friday morning in front of the Driggs City Building), and the Teton Valley Balloon Rally. The museum showcases the area’s rich history, while the farmers market offers fresh produce and locally made goods. The balloon rally is held every summer in early July and features colorful hot air balloons taking to the skies over Teton Valley.

    Dining

Teton Valley has a thriving culinary scene, with a wide range of restaurants offering everything from pizza to Thai to fine dining. For a long-standing favorite bar and restaurant, check out the Knotty Pine Supper Club or The Royal Wolf, both embracing a casual vibe with outdoor seating. For a more elevated dining experience, Forage Bistro & Lounge is admired for using locally sourced ingredients, and King Sushi (be sure to make a reservation) is the community’s latest establishment that has been welcomed with open arms for its fresh, high-quality fish and authentic sushi rolls. Pizzeria Alpino and Tatanka Tavern make a pizza pie that will have you coming back for more. Victor Emporium stirs up its legendary huckleberry milkshake that attracts ice cream lovers from near and far.
